Seniors

For over 85 years, Sandy Creek Cricket Club has provided opportunities for senior cricketers of all ages and abilities.

The Cockatoos have always been a sociable and welcoming club, while maintaining a competitive streak on the field.

As our club song says: We're a mighty bunch of fellows and everyone's a star. If you don't find us at the cricket, you'll find us in the bar!

We currently field 4 senior sides in the Barossa and Light Cricket Association, with our home ground at Curdnatta Park being one of the best turf pitches in the competition.

C-Grade – A4 Premiers 2018/19!

In swiftly fading light and a light drizzle of rain, the C-Grade “rode the donkey” to a classy victory over South Gawler in the A4 Grand Final at Stockwell Oval yesterday. Building on the foundations laid by Kym McLean, coach Stephen Hands has much to be proud of in his first season as coach of

Arise Centurion!

After a relatively quiet start to the season, some of Sandy Creek’s batsmen have gone ballistic in the second half of the year! As at Christmas, the only player to make a hundred was Daniel “DK” Koch, with 148 against Hamley Bridge in the C-Grade. Then Mark “Merv” Freyer decided to become a trend setter.

What a week for superstar A-Grader Jamie Diener! Representing the Barossa and Light Association in the Country Cup, Jamie was named the Player of the Carnival after a sensational week, topped off with a century on the final day against the South East. Jamie was the leading run scorer for the carnival, with 196 runs

Mosey Medallist 2017/18 – Jamie Diener

Cricket is one of those unique team games that relies heavily on individual performances and two of the main reasons Sandy Creek were so competitive in 2017/18 were the dynamic duo of Jamie Diener and Rhys Handtke. Both players are superstars in their early 20s who are yet to reach their peaks – when you

A-Grade bow out but U16s and U14s through to the Grand Final

Unfortunately the Sandy Creek A-Grade has been defeated by South Gawler in their semi-final over the weekend. After bowling the opposition out for 184 in just 48.3 overs (Rooster 4/46, Diener 4/81), the Cockies were left under 100 overs to chase it down. Unfortunately they had a collapse of 5 wickets for 1 run to

Kurt Roberts – 3000 runs

Congratulations to Kurt “Gomez” Roberts, who made his 3000th senior run for the Cockies today (21/10/2017), during his innings of 27 for the B-Grade against Willaston. The modest, self effacing acting skipper and beloved chairman of the club now has 3006 runs at an average just a shade under 22, with two centuries including a
